A stunning gem+ example of the rare and in-demand Meiji 3 50 Sen. This coin exhibits bright-white surfaces that are exceptionally mar-free along with booming luster. With a grade of MS66 it is very close to top-pop. Only 1 coin has been graded finer by PCGS at MS66+.
Meiji 3 is the inaugural year for the 50 Sen series, and is the second largest in physical size and denomination of Meiji silver coinage. This year is one of only two that feature the iconic dragon obverse/sunburst reverse combination.
