This 1882 1 Yen is exceedingly rare in multiple ways. As the Gin counterstamp was applied to this coin in 1897 and then exported for circulation abroad, to remain in mint state is an almost impossible feat.
Additionally, this example is undeniably prooflike, in itself extremely scarce but far moreso with the Gin counterstamp.
