1887 (M20) Japan 1 Yen 38.1mm Small Variety - NGC AU55

An original, circulated example of the small variety 1887 Meiji 20 Yen. In 1887, the Japanese government reduced the size of the Yen from 38.6mm to 38.1mm. Coins of both sizes were minted, but the smaller variety is the more common of the two.
